Designing stellar experiences, one interface at a time.
A development team can’t code their way out of a weak design. Success is born from intentional, precise, creative design.
Mobile App UX Design
In today’s marketplace, it’s not enough to have a functional app. Users expect an app that’s lovely to look at, smooth to use and sometimes even a little bit fun. We’ll take you through our proprietary process to source the right stakeholders, conduct interviews and research to identify peak moments, and iterate on designs to land on an interface that won’t just take you to the moon -- we’ll take you to Mars.
We’ll lead your team through reviewing high-fidelity mockups, identifying areas where end user research is warranted, and conducting that research and incorporating the feedback.
Of course, a design is of no use if it can’t be built or won’t function well in the real world. As a full-service development team who builds our own designs, we are accustomed to working with developers and within the boundaries of what various technologies and frameworks can offer. That includes maximizing the experience by creating custom animations and illustrations that work with the chosen technology.
If that sounds like a lot, don’t worry - we usually complete this in anywhere from 4-16 weeks depending on the size of the project. After all, projects don’t deliver value until they are released, so we want to get your project on the launchpad as quickly as possible.
Software UX Design
Whether you’re designing an internal tool or a SaaS product, most applications are aimed providing value by creating change - a change in behavior, a change in attitude, or a change in outcome. In order to drive that change, we have to align the goals of the users with the goals of the organization producing the software. That’s where UX design comes in.
We work with you to assemble the right group of stakeholders, walk the group through our step-by-step process for getting to the best design quickly and with full buy-in.
That involves a variety of factors: it must be aesthetically pleasing, easy to use, fit the brand, fit the needs of the audience (are they frequent dark mode users? Always have their phone in hand? Love their keyboard shortcuts) as well as taking into account how to positively influence the micro-decisions each person makes daily, and build positive sentiment toward the app.
Time to market matters, so all of this happens in anywhere from 4-16 weeks depending on the size of the project.
Game Design and Development
Video games are a 180 billion dollar industry worldwide. Kids today revere e-sports the way their parents’ generations looked up to traditional athletes. Many adults use games to relax and take a break fro the stresses of daily life. Games have been shown to aid in education and retention and can instantly change mood and communicate a message.
But it has to be engaging, or none of that will happen. How do you make a game engaging? That’s our job. We’ll walk you through game, character and story design, how to find the peak moments and create just the right amount of difficulty. If your game has a message, we’ll work with you to find the best way to incorporate your content into the game. And of course, how to make it fun.
Does it take time? Of course it does. But very few things can replicate the impact of a well-designed game. Not to mention, it’s really fun to work on.
UX Tune-Ups
Do you have an existing app, cloud product or game that could use a little design love? We can help!
User interface standards change over time. Common reasons for wanting a tune up are:
a branding change
wanting to provide better responsiveness or support for mobile devices
feeling the interface looks ‘stale’ or not as modern as it used to
accommodating accessibility standards
wanting to improve conversion rates
a desire to just plain love it more
All of these are great reasons to pursue a design tune-up. We can collaborate with you to identify what’s working and what’s not, enhance the good and adjust what’s become obsolete.
The design portion of these engagements can range anywhere from 6K - 60K+ depending on size and scope, and the development portion depends on the developer, but tends to run about 1.5 - 2x the design cost.
